In keeping with the overall objective of the Shiv Nadar University, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences will not only help students distil and assimilate the knowledge that already exists, but also develop new and deeper insights to add to the existing body of knowledge.

This will be made possible by rigorous classroom teaching, round-the-clock interaction among students from different disciplines housed in the same campus and faculty that follows a single dictum "Good researchers make good teachers." Students will be taught both the abstractions necessary for scientific enquiry and the skills needed to solve immediate and local problems. Our students will therefore, be adept at whatever career they choose, be it in business, government, or research.
