Welcome to the Department of Computer science and Engineering at Shiv Nadar University. After going through the site, we hope you will be acquainted with our dual mission of being a student centric department with exceptional undergraduate program, and pursue world class research and development for the society.

Housed within the School of Engineering, our department is one of the largest in the University, with more than 350 students. In the undergraduate level, we offer a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program in Computer Science and Engineering. At the graduate level, we offer a Master of Technology (M.Tech) program in Computer Science and Engineering, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Computer Science and Engineering. Our B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering curriculum is designed by taking into account the latest developments in the world of computing, and the multi disciplinary components in the programme provide students a strong foundation in the disciplines of humanities and social sciences, natural sciences, technology and engineering studies, communications and management.

These are exciting times to be a Computer major. Computing systems are now integrated in virtually every sphere of life, and most of these systems are wireless and mobile. Research at SNU Computer Science and Engineering is pursued in the following broad areas that are highly sought after:

The department has a group of dedicated regular and visiting faculty who are experts in their field of work. Faculty hiring is very selective and the department continuously looks for brilliant Computer Scientists who will spearhead research in the above mentioned areas. Research is heavily promoted at the undergraduate level, and CSE majors are highly encouraged to work and publish in research projects pursued by the faculty.

The department offers exciting opportunities to expand your intellectual horizons through distinguished-lecture series, student clubs like the ACM and ACM-W student chapter, and socially relevant projects in our advanced courses and at our research laboratories.
