Multiple environmental stresses adversely affect plant growth and development. Plants under multiple stress condition trigger cascade of signals and show response unique to specific stress as well as shared responses, common to individual stresses. Here, we aim to identify common and unique genetic components during stress response mechanisms liable for cross-talk between stresses. Although drought and cold stress have been widely studied, insignificant information is available about how their combination affects plants. To that end, we performed meta-analysis and co-expression network comparison of drought and cold stress response in Arabidopsis thaliana by analyzing 390 microarray samples belonging to 29 microarray studies. We observed 6120 and 7079 DEGs (differentially expressed genes) under drought and cold stress respectively, using Rank Product methodology. Statistically, 28\% (2890) DEGs were found to be common in both the stresses (i.e.; drought and cold stress) with most of them having similar expression pattern. Further, gene ontology-based enrichment analysis have identified shared biological processes and molecular mechanisms such as—‘photosynthesis’, ‘respiratory burst’, ‘response to hormone’, ‘signal transduction’, ‘metabolic process’, ‘response to water deprivation’, which were affected under cold and drought stress. Forty three transcription factor families were found to be expressed under both the stress conditions. Primarily, WRKY, NAC, MYB, AP2/ERF and bZIP transcription factor family genes were highly enriched in all genes sets and were found to regulate 56\% of common genes expressed in drought and cold stress. Gene co-expression network analysis by WGCNA (weighted gene co-expression network analysis) revealed 21 and 16 highly inter-correlated gene modules with specific expression profiles under drought and cold stress respectively. Detection and analysis of gene modules shared between two stresses revealed the presence of four consensus gene modules. © 2018 Sharma et al. Comparative transcriptome meta-analysis of Arabidopsis thaliana under drought and cold stress

In this paper we introduce some generalized difference sequence spaces by using Musielak-Orlicz function, ideal convergence and an infinite matrix defined on n-normed spaces. Some difference sequence spaces of infinite matrix and Orlicz function

In this chapter, we study various mathematical programming problems in a common framework known as linear complementarity problem. Solving a linear complementarity problem depends on the properties of its underlying matrix class. A Unified Framework for a Class of Mathematical Programming Problems

Incidence of whooping cough exhibits variable dynamics across time and space. The periodicity of this disease varies from annual to five years in different geographic regions in both developing and developed countries. Many hypotheses have been put forward to explain this variability such as nonlinearity and seasonality, stochasticity, variable recruitment of susceptible individuals via birth, immunization, and immune boosting. We propose an alternative hypothesis to describe the variability in periodicity – the intricate dynamical variability of whooping cough may arise from interactions between its dominant etiological agents of Bordetella pertussis and Bordetella parapertussis. We develop a two-species age-structured model, where two pathogens are allowed to interact by age-dependent convalescence of individuals with severe illness from infections. With moderate strength of interactions, the model exhibits multi-annual coexisting attractors that depend on the R0 of the two pathogens. We also examine how perturbation from case importation and noise in transmission may push the system from one dynamical regime to another. The coexistence of multi-annual cycles and the behavior of switching between attractors suggest that variable dynamics of whopping cough could be an emergent property of its multi-agent etiology. © 2018 The Authors

In [3] Dündar introduced the notion of rough I and obtained two criteria for rough I 2 -convergence. In the present paper we 2 -convergenceintroduce some new rough ideal convergent sequence spaces of Musielak-Orlicz functions and four dimensional bounded-regular matrices. We study some topological and algebraic properties of these spaces. We also establish some inclusion relations between these spaces. Applications of four dimensional matrices to generating some roughly I 2 -convergent double sequence spaces

In this paper we introduce and study some difference double sequence spaces of fuzzy numbers by using Hausdorff metric associated with sequence of Orlicz functions. We make an effort to study some algebraic, topological properties and inclusion relations between these sequence spaces. We show that the new formed sequence spaces are complete with respect to the metric D M, Δ m, p, u (x, y). Finally, we establish some relation between Δ r -statistically convergent and Δ r -statistically (C, 1, 1) summable double sequences of fuzzy numbers under the slowly oscillating and statistically slowly oscillating conditions in certain sense, respectively. © 2018 - IOS Press and the authors. Applications of Tauberian theorem in Orlicz spaces of double difference sequences of fuzzy numbers

In this note we study sub-Hardy Hilbert spaces on which the the action of the operator of multiplication by the coordinate function z is assumed to be weaker than that of an isometry. A class of sub-hardy hilbert spaces associated with weighted shifts

Purpose: To describe the clinical manifestations of persons with epilepsy (PWE) in onchocerciasis endemic villages in South Sudan. Methods: During a survey in Maridi County in May 2018, PWE were interviewed and examined in their households by a clinical officer or medical doctor. Onchocerciasis-associated epilepsy (OAE) was defined as ≥2 seizures without any obvious cause, starting between the ages of 3–18 years in previously healthy persons who had resided for at least 3 years in the onchocerciasis endemic area. Results: Seven hundred and thirty-six PWE were included in the study; 315 (42.8\%) were females; median age was 18 years. A variety of seizure types were reported: generalized tonic-clonic seizures in 511 PWE (69.4\%), absences in 15 (2.0\%), focal motor seizures with full awareness in 7 (1.0\%), focal motor seizures with impaired awareness in 25 (3.4\%), brief episodes of hallucinations in 316 (43.9\%) and nodding seizures in 335 (45.5\%). The median age of onset of all seizures was 10 years, and 8 years for nodding seizures. PWE with nodding seizures presented with more cognitive disabilities. The diagnostic criteria for OAE were met by 414 (85.2\%) of the 486 PWE with complete information. Eighty (11.0\%) PWE presented with Nakalanga features. Only 378 (51.4\%) PWE were taking anti-epileptic treatment. Conclusion: PWE presented with a wide spectrum of seizures. The high percentage of PWE who met the diagnostic criteria for OAE suggests that better onchocerciasis control could prevent new cases. Urgent action is needed to close the anti-epileptic treatment gap. © 2018 The Authors
