Nirvana Mitra is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Shiv Nadar University. He has completed his Ph.D. from Stony Brook University, New York in May 2020. His research and teaching interests include macroeconomics of sovereign debt and default, political economy implications of fiscal policy, and the consequences of resource misallocation on the aggregate and firm-level productivity for emerging market economies.
Before his Ph.D. Nirvana earned his Masters degree in Economics from Jadavpur University and a bachelor’s degree from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, University of Calcutta.
