Plant immunity proteins and peptides, bioactive peptides and their therapeutic applications
She has been actively working in the area of plant immunity proteins and peptides involved in defense against insect pest infestation and those with relevance in the context of crop improvement. Her research has been focused on structure-function correlation of diverse plant defense proteins, molecular diversity and their functional significance. She is also working extensively towards understanding the cyclic peptides distribution within individual plants and their tissues, factors influencing cyclotide expression, gene architecture, post-translational mechanism leading to cyclization, bioactivities and designing synthetic cyclotides directed towards molecular targets in human parasitic diseases like malaria and leishmania. She has published her research in international peer-reviewed journals and presented in international conferences.
